SCOTT COOK

Making travels back and forth from his hometown of Edmonton, Canada to the island of Formosa, Scott Cook has penned many poems and songs invoking the experiences with life and nature that are to be found between. The mixture of blues and folk with lyrics about everyday happenings sung in smooth, yet gravelly vocals is reminiscent of early Tom Waits. On Taiwan, Scott often performs with The Anglers, a roots music band with reggae influence. Being a multi-talented musician, Scott Cook first recorded his ambient drum n bass project Lux Sound System in 1997. More recently he self-released a solo CD entitled Long Way to Wander as well as a CD with The Anglers.

Scott Cook and The Anglers have been mainstays at festivals like Spring Scream and Peace Fest over the years playing alongside numerous roots, reggae and funk bands including Milk, Fireflower and Militant Hippi. He often performs solo at bars and folk events in Edmonton, but usually makes it to Taiwan in Spring when the time is right.
