78bpm
As one of the first Taiwanese indie-electronica groups to grasp a distinctive downtempo vibe, 78bpm spurred other local musicians down the same path. Not strictly electronic, the group incorporated live guitars as well as traditional Taiwanese instrumentation.
Despite making it as a finalist at the 2003 Ho-Hai-Yan Indie Awards, 78bpm has broken up since then. Yichin, the mastermind behind 78bpm opened the Silent Agreement label to release their first CD and has since done quite well in producing other Taiwanese electronica and indie groups.
